The Repopulation is a promising MMORPG that we first featured two decades back on Alpha Beta Gamer. It is still in development (and seems excellent), but the devs have just announced they are porting the entire game over to a brand new engine (Unreal Engine). This is obviously going to take some time, so in the meantime, the devs intend to launch an action orientated non-MMO first/third own survival shot spin-off set in the same universe.
It is worth noting that even this is a spin-off, there is still plenty of features and content, with crafting, construction vehicles, mounts, pets, day/night cycles, co-op, PvP, PvE, modding as well as intended VR support. Even from the early evolution footage, It’s a great looking game which looks set to give a broad sci-fi survival experience and permit players to familiarize themselves with all the rich universe of The Repopulation.
It’s based on the Unreal Engine. The gameplay and features will feel quite familiar to players of ARK: Survival Evolved. The environment is quite Earth-like except strangely colored blue bushes and the now limited variations of wildlife. The only clue that the player’s character came from everywhere is that the open cryo/escape pod near the spawn point.
Alien humanoids (Lurkers) also roam the planet surface and are hostile (in addition to skinnable and supply meat). Crafting is very similar to that of many modern survival games but still a little undeveloped. The game is available to play on Steam Early Access and players can play offline, on the official servers or lease a host server and set their own rules. There are both single and multi players manners in addition to PVP and PVE rulesets.
You wake up stranded on a hostile alien planet, following your journey to colonize Earth. Rhyldan takes a devastating turn. As you live, you will regain access to knowledge and necessary skills to assist in your survival. Unlock advanced technologies to construct giant structures, advanced weaponry and defenses, tame the wildlife, engineer and develop new dwelling species, build vehicles and robots and use it all to support your allies or conquer your enemies.
Fragmented Game Computer is offered in many rulesets allowing for PvP focused content, or working together with other players to survive against the surroundings.
