The Room Tribute Full Completion
The Room Tribute Full Completion is an incredible RPG adventure tribute to one of the greatest worst films of all time, including superb pixel art animation, a lot of terrific easter eggs and a wicked sense of humor of the super cheesy dialogue and bizarre story of the first. For those unaware of this cult masterpiece that’s the Room, you should probably go and watch it today — it’s among the worst films ever made — filled with awful acting, odd narrative choices and funny dialogue which causes a great deal of unintentional hilarity. If there was ever a movie that fell into the ‘so bad it’s good’ category, then it is The Room — in-fact it is so bad that it is perfect really (seriously go and watch it NOW!)
The Room Tribute Full Completion is the perfect homage to the film in all aspects, but one — by rights any game depending on the Room should be as dreadful as the movie, but it is quite good! In it, you take control of Johnny, a somewhat grotesque looking, but kind hearted banker in San Francisco with a gorgeous young finance and a beautiful best friend called Mark. When you haven’t seen the film, you can probably guess where it goes from there, but you cannot ever be truly ready for the funny dialogue and the randomness of this script. The Room Tribute Full Completion takes all of the odd, awkward and terribly acted scenes from the film and sculpts them into a thoroughly entertaining adventure, filled with great pixel art cartoon, funny with jokes and easter egg supply that provide tonnes of laugh out loud moments (just wait until you see the Denny’s room!)
The Room Tribute Full Completion manages to reverse the ‘good picture to terrible video game adaptation’ trope on its head, by developing an excellent game from a terrible movie. It shows a good deal of love for its source material and knows exactly where to poke fun at it as well. An excellent game in its right and also a must play if you have ever experienced the strange broken oddity the is The Room. Highly suggested.
The Room Tribute Full Completion is a love letter to the best cult classic film ever made, The Room (2003). Join Johnny on his normal and funny experience through San Francisco.
Join Mark, Lisa, Johnny, Denny and the rest in this point-and-click JRPG style modern day experience inspired by the love of the movie The Room. A tribute to the independent film, The Room, this game enables you to control the film’s key character and feel as though you’re in the movie also.
This point and click game rely on simply the best movie that was ever produced!
As a self-professed “core gamer” I’ve always believed the simple flash game to be under my well-honed expertise. With games like Farmville hoarding a lot of hours over the casual gaming arena, I believe I am well justified in hating on them.
The game follows the movie’s script fairly solidly, but tells the whole story from Johnny’s perspective. A whole lot of the several mistakes and mysteries of this film are elaborated on in the game, and the new material and dialogue fit right in with the tone of “The Space” In the funny dialogue, to the collectable wooden spoons, this game uses its movie license in the simplest way possible.
The game controls with simple mouse clicks in exactly the same vein as any other point and clicks an adventure title you might have played before. The action is combined with some extremely comical turn-based conflicts and a soccer, throwing mini-game, which can be both completed with well-timed mouse clicks. It is not exactly inspired when it comes to gameplay mechanics, and there are a couple of WTF moments, but that is not exactly the point with The Room Tribute Full Completion. This game is all about the humor and the dialogue, which can be equally brilliantly realized.
For those who’ve experienced any other names that Tom Fulp has worked, you will be pleased to know that the visual style of The Room Tribute Full Completion is easily on par with his other functions. The direction taken visually works for the game, and to get a flash name the technical capabilities of the images are pretty insane also.
It contains that one repetitive motif and all of the cheesy power ballads in the movie with a retro midi arrangement. Fans of the film will find it hard not to snicker. The sound bites for a few of the characters also had me cracking myself. Of all of the clips, they have used they chose the best one of all. I will never understand how Wiseau can chuckle as he does in this formless manner, but it sounds more entertaining every time I hear it.
The question of lifespan becomes nearly irrelevant for a game that’s free to play, but it has to be stated that The Room Tribute Full Completion includes a surprisingly large quantity of content. Rushing through the first story took me about an hour, but if you can find all of the wooden spoons in the game, you can unlock an alternate ending. There are also lots of little in joke secrets you can discover that will make map exploration a rewarding experience.
Taking into consideration the game is free; there’s no excuse for people who enjoyed ” Space” not to attempt the game. Consider it essential gambling, in fact. Having said that, those who have not sampled the dramatic delights of Tommy Wiseau should search for their kicks elsewhere. It just does its own thing, and I would not have it any other way. From the founder of Castle Crashers and Alien Hominid comes a tie in flash game to one of the finest awful films ever produced.
